1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Kwik Keys Velo's bicycle rental services, website, or facilities, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Rental Services Description

Kwik Keys Velo provides bicycle rental services, including but not limited to hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly bicycle rentals. We also offer guided tours, maintenance services, and related equipment rentals.

3. Eligibility and Requirements

3.1 Age Requirements
  • All renters must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent/guardian present to sign the rental agreement
  • Electric bike rentals require renters to be at least 18 years old with valid driver's license
  • Mountain bike rentals require renters to be at least 16 years old
  • Youth bikes (16" and 20") are available for ages 4-10 with adult supervision
3.2 Documentation Requirements

All renters must provide:

  • Valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID)
  • Valid credit card for security deposit and payment
  • For electric bikes: Valid driver's license demonstrating traffic knowledge

4. Rental Agreement and Payment

4.1 Rental Duration

Rental periods begin when you take possession of the bicycle and end when you return it to our location. Late returns will incur additional charges at the rate of $10 per hour or portion thereof.

4.2 Security Deposit

A security deposit is required and will be held on your credit card until the bicycle is returned in satisfactory condition. The deposit amounts are:

  • Standard bikes: $50
  • Mountain bikes: $100
  • Electric bikes: $200
  • Premium/luxury bikes: $150
4.3 Payment Terms

Payment is due at the time of rental. We accept cash, credit cards, and debit cards. All prices are subject to change without notice, but the price quoted at the time of booking will be honored.

5. Use of Bicycles

5.1 Intended Use
  • Bicycles must be used for their intended purpose on appropriate terrain
  • No off-road riding except on designated mountain bike trails
  • No use on highways, interstates, or busy roads without proper safety equipment
  • No sharing of bicycles with persons not listed on the rental agreement
  • No subleasing or lending of rented bicycles
5.2 Prohibited Activities
  • Riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Racing, stunts, or acrobatic maneuvers
  • Carrying passengers unless the bicycle is designed for multiple riders
  • Using bicycles for commercial purposes without written consent
  • Modifying or attempting to repair the bicycle
  • Removing safety equipment or components

6. Safety Requirements

  • Helmet use is mandatory for all riders at all times
  • Proper fitting and adjustment of helmet and bicycle are required before departure
  • Riders must obey all traffic laws and local regulations
  • Use of lights and reflectors is required during dawn, dusk, or nighttime riding
  • High-visibility clothing is recommended

7. Maintenance and Damage

7.1 Routine Maintenance

Bicycles are provided in good working condition. Renters are responsible for basic maintenance during the rental period, including:

  • Checking tire pressure
  • Basic chain lubrication
  • Reporting any mechanical issues immediately
7.2 Damage and Repairs

Renters are responsible for:

  • Any damage beyond normal wear and tear
  • Loss or theft of the bicycle
  • Damage to third-party property
  • All repair costs plus applicable service fees

8. Return Conditions

  • Bicycles must be returned in the same condition as when rented, normal wear and tear excepted
  • Bicycles must be returned to the designated return area
  • All rental equipment and accessories must be returned
  • A final inspection will be conducted by our staff
  • Any damage or missing items will be assessed and charged accordingly

9. Cancellation and Refund Policy

9.1 Cancellation by Customer
  • Free cancellation up to 2 hours before rental start time
  • 50% charge for cancellations within 2 hours of rental start time
  • No-show results in full charge
  • Weather cancellations receive full refund
9.2 Cancellation by Kwik Keys Velo

We reserve the right to cancel rentals for safety reasons, severe weather, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, customers will receive a full refund or reschedule at no charge.

10. Liability and Insurance

10.1 Customer Responsibility

Renters assume all responsibility for:

  • Any injury to themselves or others
  • Damage to property
  • Violation of local laws or regulations
  • Any consequences resulting from prohibited use
10.2 Company Liability

Kwik Keys Velo's liability is limited to the value of the rental fee paid. We are not responsible for:

  • Injuries resulting from normal use of the bicycle
  • Loss of personal items
  • Consequential damages
  • Third-party claims

11. Additional Protection Options

We offer optional damage protection plans:

  • Basic Protection ($5/day): Reduces customer responsibility for damage
  • Full Protection ($10/day): Covers most damage and theft (customer pays only deductible)
  • Premium Protection ($15/day): Comprehensive coverage with minimal customer responsibility

12. Weather Policy

Riding continues at customer discretion during light rain or drizzle. For severe weather (heavy rain, lightning, high winds), we may suspend rentals for safety. Customers have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund during severe weather conditions.

13. Group Rentals

For groups of 5 or more, special terms apply:

  • Group leader is responsible for all members of the group
  • Group safety briefing is mandatory
  • Group discount rates apply
  • Special waiver may be required

14. Website and Online Services

14.1 Online Reservations

Online reservations are subject to availability and require valid payment information. Confirmation numbers must be presented upon arrival.

14.2 Website Use

Users of our website agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site
  • Transmit viruses or other harmful code
  • Interfere with the proper working of the website

15. Privacy

Customer information is handled according to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. We collect and use customer information solely for business purposes related to providing our services.

16. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or our services will be resolved through:

  1. Direct negotiation between the parties
  2. Mediation if negotiation fails
  3. Binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association

17. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi. Any legal proceedings will be conducted in Washington County, Mississippi.

18. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

19. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Customers will be notified of material changes via email or website posting. Continued use of our services after modifications constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
